How to Change Your UMICH Kerberos Password

We recommend that you check your UMICH Kerberos password for security once every six months (see the Password Security Checklist).

You can change your password

TROUBLESHOOTING TIP: If you change your password and then find that you are unable to access a particular service, it may be because you use a different password for that service. For example, users of the ITCS Exchange e-mail service use their Windows Active Directory password to access their mail (see changing your Exchange password). You may use other passwords for other University services provided by different units.

When you change your UMICH Kerberos password, only your UMICH Kerberos password is changed. Any other passwords you might have are unaffected. Some people have set their other passwords to be the same as their UMICH password. We recommend against doing this. If however, you decide to do this, and you want all your passwords to be the same, you will need to remember to change all your other passwords when you change your UMICH Kerberos password.
